Gion Yamakasa Matsuri

No queria presentar a éste como "un festival donde cientos de personas corren sin sentido por las calles enseñando el trasero", así que les pongo lo que dice mi guía de turistas:

El climax del Gion Yakamatsa Matsuri (Julio 1-15 en la ciudad de Fukuoka) es una carrera de 5 kilómetros que termina en el santuario Kushida (Kushida-jinja), en la cual siete equipos compiten cargando por las calles unos "carros alegoricos" que pesan una tonelada c/u, mientras los espectadores los refrescan con agua. Al igual que el Festival de Gion de Kyoto (el mas tradicional del Japón) viene desde el periodo Kamakura (1185-1333), cuando los monjes Budistas rociaban agua sagrada sobre las personas para intentar frenar epidemias de verano.

Bueno, a todo esto, lo mejor del festival son las chicas pervertidas que se la pasan tomando fotos. Con la mojada que me di, no los puedo llevar más cerca de la acción. Este festival empezó a las 5 de la mañana y ya estaba amanecido con mucho calor.

The climax the Gion Yakamatsa Matsuri (July 1-15, in Fukuoka City) is a five-kilometre dawn race finishing at Kushida-Jinja, in which some teams manhandle one-ton floats though the streets while spectators dowse them with water. Like Kyoto's Gion Festival, this harks back to the Kamapura period (1185-1333) when Budhist priests sprinkled sacred water to drive away summer epidemics.

The best of the festival is that there are many pervert girls watching it and taking pictures. I got all wat taking this video, so this means that you cannot be any closer to the action than this! THe festival started at 5am, at it was allready sunny and with a hot weather.
