Comic City (7) - Meido San

Ya ayer habia puesta una foto de una "meido-san" (en ingles "maid") y tambien de cuando me perdi en Akihabara por primera vez. Sin embargo en esta ocación quisiera explicar un poco mas este fenómeno y es que se a puesto mucho de moda estos disfraces de mucama.

Al igual que los cosplay, son disfraces tomados de personajes de anime pero esto ha llegado al extremo de que ahora se han creado "meido kisaten" o "meido cafe". Cafeterias donde las meseras estan vestidas de "meido". A diferencia de otras cafeterias, su trabajo no es solo de servir comida, sino de atender a los clientes cómo verdaderos hespedes. Desde que entras te saludan "Okaerinasai-mase go-jyujinsama" (bienvenido mi amo). Cuando se acercan es posible platicar con ellas y a todo lo que les cuentes te estaran sonriendo y te lo aplaudiran. Por ejemplo, si le dices me acabo de comprar esta camisa inmediatamente responderan que que bonita aunque este horrible. Como se deben de imaginar, comida no es nada especial y es un poco mas caro que otro lugar, aunque vale la pena tomarse un cafe y un pastel solo para charlar un poco con ellas. Tomar fotos esta prohibido asi que pueden ver este video para entender de que les hablo (aunque esta en japones se puede ver como son por dentro).

Yesterday I showed you a picture of a "meido-san" ("maid") and also when I got lost in akihabara for the first time. But this time I would like to explain more about this phenomenom because it has become a huge fashion.

Just as other cosplay, the costume is taken from anime characters but this has gone all the way to the extreme of creating "meido kisaten" or "meido cafe". Coffee shops where the waiters are dressed as "meido". In contrast of normal cafeterias, they don't serve food, but they make feel clients as real guests. Just by walking in you they say "Okaerinasai-mase go-yujinsama" (welcome my master). When they come to the table it is possible to talk with them and they will cheer up everything you tell them. As you may think, the food is not so special and the price is a little higher but not too much. It is a good choise just to ask for a coffee and a cake to talk with them. To take pictures is forbiden but you can see in this video how it is one of them from the inside.
