lost in Hokkaido

This was a study trip to hokkaido, the northest island of Japan and the farest one from where i live. I went with Tasaki senpai. My first impression was that i was arriving to the north pole... everything seemed so white. First we went to de Chitose Lake, a very beatiful place, where you can see many mountains around the huge lake. After this we headed to Sapporo, the capital city of hokkaido, famous for beer. The streets are arranged from north to south and east to west, like a grid with coordinates. It is difficult to get lost (but we did hehe). Next day we headed for Asahikawa, the second largest city of hokkaido. This city has an open air mall, and ice sculptures where been created in there. From there, we went to sunkyo, 2 hrs by bus. It is a nice place but we came back very quickly because of the cold. After walking around Asahikawa, we came back to Sapporo and we met with Carlos, who is also studing in Japan, and we watched the ice sculptures, which is the main attraction. Next day we took some more pictures of Sapporo and came back... I almost got sick, but it was because after coming back i didnt felt the need to wear a sweater after such cold weather. for sure i will go back to this nice place some day after.

Konnichi wa Madrazo san!

I'm glad to see your BLOG is back. I have been busy my friend but I took time to read it again today.

The ice festival is AMAZING!! You are very lucky! I left Canada before the December ice festivals twice so... none for me.

Come over and read my BLOG... I put something Japanese in it ;)

Take care
